There are many hotels within walking distance from the MRT station as well as museums and historical sites. There are also hotels that are more secluded and private. Best time to visit: October – April when the temperatures are cooler, making it great for hot spring soaking
By MRT: Take the MRT to Xinbeitou MRT station. From there you can also take the S9 or S26 bus further up the mountain if needed. These photos come from a walk I took from Beitou MRT Station to the Beitou Museum. I noticed there were a ton of hot spring resorts, some better than others, along the way and I wanted to share them here.
Please note that this is by no means a comprehensive list. This is just a list of prominent hotels I on my walk through Beitou, as well as some less prominent ones that have been abandoned and left to rot. Some of them turned out not to be hotels at all, even though I thought they were hotels when I first saw them.

If you walk around Beitou, you will notice that there are many, many hotels available. They are pretty easy to find. The ones close to the MRT you can get to in walking distance, but the ones up the hill will likely require a taxi or shuttle bus.
Radium Kagaya International Hotel 日勝生加賀屋國際溫泉飯店

Jingquan Baths 景泉浴室
Jingquan Baths is not a hotel, but they provide cheap private baths if you do not want to book a hotel room. Their rates are only a few hundred NT per hour. There is no way to book online.
Beautyage Spring Hotel 美代溫泉飯店

Right in front of Beutyage is Spa Spring Resort (on the right in the photo above).

Forever Young 鄉林玉川
Although Forever Young looks like a hot spring resort from the street, it is not a Hotel. I cannot tell you if someone is renting an AirBnB here.

中華佛手文化館 Chinese Buddhist Cultural Museum
Another building I came across here was the Chinese Buddhism Museum, which was built by the Dharma Drum Buddhist group. Hours: 9 AM to 5 PM Address: No. 276, Guangming Rd, Beitou District, Taipei City, 112
Caoshan Shuimei 草山水美
Although Caoshan Shuimei looks like a hot spring resort from the street, it is not a Hotel. I cannot tell you if someone is renting an AirBnB here. But it looks pretty awesome and impressive from the street.
Yongxin Elderly Care Center 詠馨住宿長照機構
Another place that looks like a hot spring hotel, but is not actually a hot spring hotel, is Yongxin Elderly Care Center. I have found that elderly care centers, or nursing homes, are quite rare in Taiwan because families like to take care of their own elderly or hire in-home caretakers. However, Beitout Hot Springs would be a great place to spend retirement. However, it does not seem like hot spring baths are part of their facilities. Spring City Resort 春天酒店
Spring City Resort may have the best views of any hotel in Beitou. It sits up on a hill overlooking Beitou, and is right next door to the Beitou Art Museum. Asia Pacific Hotel Beitou 亞太飯店
Another fancy hotel on the hill with great views is the Asia Pacific Beitou Hotel, which looks a bit newer and fancier than the Spring Hotel. How to book: You can book on Agoda here or Trip.com here. Marshal Zen Garden 雙喜湯屋
Marshall Zen Garden is a coffee shop and hot spring bath in the hills of Beitou with great views of the surrounding area. It is a great place to enjoy the scenery in Beitou. This is not a hotel. You can get a discount ticket for a hot spring bath and two meals at Zen Garden on Klook here or KKday here.

Lingxiao Building 凌霄大樓
The Lingxiao Building 凌霄大樓 is a residential building in Beitou near Thermal Valley, which means due to high humidity and corrosion it has many problems, especially with electricity and the elevator.
Atami Hotel 熱海大飯店
Further down the hill, another large hotel is the Atami. Starting on March 29th, 2024, this hotel stopped operating with the possibility of urban renewal or reconstruction projects in the future. Another view from behind the massive Atami Hotel which was not open when I visited. There is a good possibility that this hotel will sit derelict for decades to come.
Water House 百樂匯大飯店 – 享溫泉
Another decent hotel in Beitou is Water House, which seems like perhaps the best deal for the money out of the hotels we have seen so far. How to book: You can book on Agoda here or Booking.com here. SweetMe Hotspring Resort 水美溫泉會館
SweetMe is a high-end hotel right near the MRT station, across from Beitou Park. How to book: You can book on Agoda here or Booking.com here. Chyuan Du Spring Resort 泉都溫泉會館
Right next door is Chyuan Du Spring Resort, which is hard to miss with its colorful yellow and green design. It seems to be more of a budget hotel. It seems like a pretty good value for the money. Wellsping Silks Beitou 北投晶泉丰旅
Perhaps the fanciest hotel in Beitou is the Wellspring Silks Beitou, which towers like a behemoth over the cityscape. Here you can probably find the best quality and services in all of Beitou. Perfect Spring is another residential building that looks like a hot spring. House owners have access to their own private hot spring bath rooms.
Places to Eat Around Beitou 北投的美食
There are plenty of food options in front of New Beitou MRT Station. probably the most obvious one being McDonald’s but also many Japanese restaurants and sit-down restaurants.
Did I mention KFC? Sorry, I am a homesick American.
New Enjoy 新上享
New Enjoy seems to be a popular Hong Kong-style restaurant right in front of Beitou Park.
Hot Spring Ramen 溫泉拉麵
Another decent establishment seems to be this specialty “hot spring” ramen shop.

Abandoned Hotels 廢墟溫泉飯店
Now that we have covered the best hotels in Beitou, we can move on to the worst hotels, which are the abandoned ones. You don’t have to look hard to find some abandoned hot spring hotels in Beitou. They are everywhere. It is expensive and labor-intensive to run a hot spring hotel, so it is not surprising that many have not passed the test of time.

Pine Chant Pavilion (Yín Sōng Gé) 吟松閣
On the way up to the Beitou Museum. there are quite a few abandoned Japanese era buildings on the side of the road, but some like the Yinsongge one are undergoing renovations. This building was a hot spring hotel dating back to 1934 during the Japanese era.
